Reviews and Ratings
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was perfect, overlooking the Loire with easy access to the town. While the rooms were tastefully decorated in a period style, they were smaller than expected. The service was top-notch, except for a quirky encounter at the front desk. The dining experience was good but a bit costly, and the facilities, including a lovely swimming pool, added to the overall experience.
The hotel is situated overlooking the Loire, nestled against a small cliff near the city's castle walls, offering lovely views and an easy walk to the attractions of Amboise. The rooms were spacious, but in need of some updates, with a mix of modern and outdated features. The service was generally excellent, with a minor issue at the front desk. The dining options were good but could benefit from more variety. Overall, a delightful location with room for improvement in certain areas.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, despite having a view of the chateau, fell short in many ways with tired elements like blackout curtains with holes and few sockets. Service, although pleasant, was spoiled by inefficient waiters who forgot orders and failed to clear plates promptly. The location, superb for exploring Amboise and the Loire valley, was a highlight, but the dining experience, although wonderful, had overpriced options. Overall, the hotel has its ups and downs, offering a convenient base for exploring the area.
